Kara is a native of Northwest Iowa and has been serving children, adolescents and adults in Iowa for the past 3 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Iowa.

Kara prioritizes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and has experience working with children and adults experiencing PTSD, grief, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, relational struggles, and body image issues. Kara is trained in EMDR, attachment-based therapy and Internal Family Systems. She also incorporates the modalities of CBT, DBT, and polyvagal therapy. Kara enjoys integrating expressive and holistic approaches—such as art, mindfulness, movement, grounding techniques, and journaling—to support nervous system regulation and overall well-being.
